The BC Coast Pilots (BCCP) are proudly the newest Green Marine partner. We join over 50 international companies who provide services, products, technology or equipment to help Green Marine participants improve their environmental performance.
Green Marine offers a voluntary program that encourages ship owners, ports, seaway corporations, terminals and shipyards to reduce their environmental footprint and work collaboratively towards a more sustainable future. Green Marine participants demonstrate a high level of commitment to being leaders in safety and the marine environment, having put their operations through Green Marine’s rigorous certification program in order for environmental stewardship practices to be evaluated.
Key performance indicators that the Green Marine program uses to assess organizations include: GHG emissions, environmental leadership, air emissions (Sox, NOx, PM), underwater noise, cargo residues, prevention of spills and leakages. Reports are independently verified every two years and are posted online each year.
